DENPASAR, BALIPOST.com – The head of the Bali Supreme Prosecutor’s Office (Kajati), Dr. Ketut Sumedana, who was appointed only a few days ago, gave his first instructions on Monday (12/2).
In his order, he immediately reminded prosecutors to work together between customary law as the local wisdom that Bali possesses and the positive law or law that applies in the country.
The official, who is still actively leading Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office, was adamant about the importance of public trust in law enforcement.
The region of Bali has a very special and unique local genius, so there must be legal cooperation between Balinese customs as a living law and positive law, namely national law, to harmonize the laws that operate simultaneously in society.
“We need to fully support the Balinese people who are strong in their religion, customs and culture to support Ajeg Bali now and in the future,” said Sumedana, who once served Kajari Gianyar.
According to him, the context of law enforcement cooperation will be a barometer in the future in different regions so that the principles of harmonization and balance in reference to the philosophy of Tri Hita Kirana can support each other in the national law enforcement agencies, in addition, this Balinese tradition institution was recognized for its existence accordingly to national legislation.
According to Attorney General ST Burhanuddin’s order, said Sumedana, who also served on the Corruption Eradication Commission, the preventive aspect of every development in Bali will be prioritized.
Moreover, Bali is a legal showcase in the eyes of the international community. “Many cases involving foreigners take place in Bali. “Such as immigration cases, drug cases, TIP (human trafficking), cybercrime and so on,” continued the man, who was also Kajati Bali’s number two.
At the same time, in the context of law enforcement, of course, attention will be paid, especially to national and regional strategic projects, where monitoring and evaluation will be carried out. Thus, these projects can be used and enjoyed not only by Balinese, but also by local and foreign tourists.
“In the future, we will cooperate with friends of Forkopimda and together formulate strategic steps in law enforcement activities. “However, the most important thing, according to the mandate of Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, is that all Adhyaksa personnel everywhere participate in the success of the elections, and as law enforcement officials to maintain neutrality, avoiding things that cause the erosion of public trust,” stressed Kajati Sumedana.
