The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) made several attempts to contact the man, who was sleeping on the steps of the HDB block, but was unable to locate him.
Stomper Randy warned Stomp about a Facebook post Wang Roo Sek in the Complaint Singapore group asking for advice on how to resolve the issue.
In the post, Wang said the man was homeless and had insisted on staying near his girlfriend, who lives on the same block, for nearly two months. She does not disclose the location of the block.
She said it has created problems for residents who live there.
“Despite being offered water, food and friendly conversation, he insists on sleeping on the stairs, contributing to unsanitary conditions through public urination and inappropriate behavior,” Wang said.
“It’s a safety concern, especially with young children in the area.”
She added that the police were called but the man reportedly “fled” before they arrived.
Several netizens urged Wang to contact MSF.
In response to Stomp’s inquiry, MSF said the case was brought to their attention on February 3.
“Since then, MSF has made numerous attempts to tell,” said an MSF spokesperson.
“However, we have not been able to find the sleeper in question.
“We will continue to make efforts to locate him and provide the necessary assistance.”
