JAKARTA, BALPOST.com – The National Police’s neutrality in the 2024 elections has been questioned by the head of the National Police Security Agency (Kabaharkam), Komien Pol, in a video by Henry Yosodinigrat. Fadil Imran as part of criticism and contribution of the community for the benefit of the institution.
“Firstly, I would like to thank you for the contributions made to the National Police from all levels of society. We, the National Police, are not anti-critic with all these contributions,” Fadil said after a meeting with Henry Yosodinigrat at the National Police Bakarham Building, Jakarta, as quoted by Antara News Agency, Monday (12/2).
Henry met with Kabharkam Polri to clarify the information he received through WhatsApp group messages regarding the orders of Police Chief General Paul. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to Dirbimas Polda regarding the 2024 elections.
Earlier, the content of the message was read by Henry during the completion of the National Issues Platform and National Challenge for retired TNI-Polri officers in Jakarta on February 9, then the video went viral on social media, which was linked to the non-neutrality of the National Police Chief in the 2024 election.
During the meeting, apart from clarifying information on the orders of the National Police chief, Henry also expressed hope that the National Police will be neutral in carrying out its duties to monitor and ensure the security of the 2024 elections.
Fadil said what Henry conveyed was used as evaluation material for the National Police institute, which is not anti-criticism, in line with public expectations. “Of course, this input becomes material for evaluating modern institutions to meet the expectations of the community,” Fadil said.
On this occasion, Fadil also urged the public not to be easily influenced by false information or hoaxes.
Most importantly, he continued, unity and unity must be preserved until these elections. “I think everyone agrees with him (Henry) to continue to prioritize unity and unity,” Fadil said.
The former East Java and Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief also emphasized the neutrality of the National Police in accordance with the provisions of existing laws and regulations.
“I would like to thank the participation of the public who have provided criticism and suggestions on the current democracy in Indonesia,” Fadil said.
At the same time, Henry Josodiningrat said that his visit to the National Police Headquarters was his own initiative to ask for clarification on the information he received regarding the special instructions of the head of the National Police to his staff regarding the 2024 elections.
Henry admitted that he received instructions from the National Police Chief without an official telegram from a WhatsApp message that was circulated.
However, when he read the content of the message at the event, the video of which went viral, the National Police chief was not confirmed whether it was true or not.
“I came here on purpose to ask for clarification on the statement on February 9 that went viral, I said there was a special order from the head of the National Police to the directors of public services in the whole Polda,” Henry said.
Henry claimed that he did not confirm this information to the Chief of the National Police because he did not have the telephone number of the Chief of the National Police to contact him.
However, after the video went viral, he received calls from several regional police chiefs he knew, who said the information was not true.
Until he contacted Kabaharkam Polri as head of Dirbinmas Polda to clarify this information. “He (Kabaharkam) said it was confirmed by the police chief and it was confirmed that the information is not true, (Kabaharkam) gave instructions to the Directorate of Community Development, there were five points as I conveyed,” Henry said.
