Trip.com Group is pleased to announce the arrival of the first batch of Chinese tourists to Singapore under the newly introduced reciprocal 30-day visa-free regime between Singapore and China. Changi Airport welcomed Chinese travelers this morning, including a tour group organized by Beijing-based Trip.com Group.
The introduction of tourist-friendly measures such as the visa-free regime has revolutionized the travel landscape, removing hurdles in the planning process and facilitating last-minute travel. With the added flexibility of a 30-day visa waiver, Chinese travelers can now embark on longer journeys to explore the vibrant city-state of Singapore.
The impact of these measures is evident in the stunning surge in Chinese New Year (CNY) bookings in Singapore via Trip.com Group platforms, which rose a whopping 206% year-on-year. It is impressive that almost half (47%) of these bookings are attributed to families looking for unforgettable vacation experiences.
To warmly welcome Chinese tourists, Trip.com Group, in cooperation with its partners in Singapore, launched a series of exclusive promotions. In partnership with Sentosa Development Corporation, Chinese tourists who book hotels through the Trip.com Group platform can enjoy attractive benefits, including a special welcome gift from Sentosa. This gift package offers a number of exclusive privileges, such as free entry to Sentosa Island and free entry to selected attractions, ensuring an unforgettable holiday experience.
According to the latest data from Trip.com Group, inbound travel to Singapore will increase by 46.8% during this year’s renminbi holiday period compared to 2023, accompanied by an impressive 108.6% increase in total inbound booking spending per the same period.
