In this regard, the Ministry of Manpower will build a Smart Training Center in Batang. This was announced by the special staff of the Minister of Manpower Kaswiyono Rusidi Chakrawangsa in Batangas on Tuesday (February 13). According to Kaswiyono, the existence of KITB opens up a wide labor market for the local workforce.
However, local people still need high standards of competence that match the needs of the industry. Therefore, to ensure that the people of Batangas do not become spectators, there is a need for appropriate and quality educational institutions that meet the needs of the industry. His party also initiated the construction of BLK with a smart and ecological concept to alleviate these needs.
“This intelligent training center is an effort to accelerate and optimize vocational training for the people of Batang and its surrounding areas,” Kaswi said.
Kaswi explained that the training center with a futuristic concept will be built on 7 hectares of land in Kandeman, Batang, right next to the Kandeman toll exit. The land was originally owned by the Central Java Provincial Government, which was transferred to the Ministry of Manpower.
“Currently, development planning has been completed. “God willing, digging will be done soon and this year we will build several first-class workshops,” he explained.
Apart from meeting short-term industrial needs, this smart learning center is also geared towards preparing talent for the future jobs and technology industries of the future.
Some of the planned occupations include apparel and fashion technology, manufacturing, electronics, multimedia and information technology, industrial automation/mechatronics, woodworking, smart buildings and infrastructure, automotive electric vehicles, green energy, healthy food and beverages, artificial intelligence, languages and more
Administratively, this training center will become a service unit of the Semarang Vocational Training and Productivity Center (BBPVP). In addition to the training center on the ground, there are also plans to build an Occupational Safety and Health Center (K3) to support industry.
With various approaches to strengthen human resources, Kasvi said this training center will also become a hub for employment services in an integrated ecosystem. In addition to training, this location will also provide certification services, labor market information, employment, K3 services and employment social security
“We will use this breakthrough as a reference point for the integration between the training center and the K3 center. This is a concrete step to ensure that local residents do not become spectators,” he emphasized.
